Case Study
The Challenge
Tier 5 Systems was commissioned as the design-build contractor for a cutting-edge data infrastructure project. Our scope of services included engineering for mechanical and electrical components, equipment supply, UPS installation, rack provision, power distribution solutions, cooling systems, containment solutions, and the coordination of electrical and mechanical contractors.
What We Did
The design called for and the space allowed for adding two new IT server pods. The design utilized Lithium Ion batteries for the UPS and over head power busways with breaker boxes which greatly reduced white space for IT cabinets. We used chilled water In-Row coolers and hot aisle containment to increase efficiency. The design is N+1 with redundant power and cooling capabilities.
What We Achieved
Tier 5 successfully completed the project on time, thanks to our dedicated efforts in collaboration with suppliers, consultants, and contractors. We were able to establish N+1 redundancy in power and cooling, guaranteeing two power feeds for each rack and double the necessary cooling for each pod. The eco aisle by Schneider sets the benchmark for pod configuration, providing a comprehensive array of in-house equipment designed to seamlessly integrate.
